Rabbi Shlomo Riskin
The Spitz Zemer HaZayit synagogue was established with the support of Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, Chief Rabbi of Efrat. Rabbi Riskin is the halachic (Jewish legal) authority of the congregation and occasionally participates in the prayer services and gives sermons on special occasions.
To Whom It May Concern,
Spitz Zemer HaZayit is an Orthodox community. Its establishment filled a religious and social void in the spiritual variety in Efrat.
I have overseen the congregation from its inception, and I am delighted to see how it has added to the spiritual life in Efrat, drawing families looking for halachic observance that is new and revitalizing.
The congregation has been active since 2005, and its activities take place in temporary locations, such as school hallways and outdoor sports facilities. This makes it difficult for the congregation to develop and draw new members who would be drawn to such a unique synagogue.
Due to the importance of the continued existence of Spitz Zemer HaZayit in Efrat, I encourage you to contribute toward building a permanent dwelling, which will serve the congregation and the general populace of Efrat.

מכתב מהרב שלמה ריסקין
בית הכנסת ' שפיץ זמר הזית' הוקם בתמיכתו ובעידודו של הרב שלמה ריסקין, רב העיר אפרת. הרב ריסקין הוא הסמכות ההלכתית של הקהילה. הוא מגיע מפעם לפעם להשתתף בתפילות ודורש בפני הקהילה באירועים מיוחדים, חגים ושמחות.
לכל מאן דבעי, שפיץ זמר הזית היא קהילה דתית אורתודוקסית הפועלת על פי כללי ההלכה. הקמת בית הכנסת מילאה חלל דתי וחברתי שהיה מצוי בחיי הרוח של העיר אפרת.
אני מלווה את בית הכנסת מראשיתו, ושמח לראות איך הקהילה מוסיפה ומחזקת את חיי הרוח באפרת. הקהילה מושכת משפחות המחפשות מחויבות הלכתית עם תחושה של חידוש וחיות.
בית הכנסת פעיל משנת 2005, ומהיווסדו הוא פועל במבנים ארעיים, כגון מסדרונות בתי ספר, אולמות ספורט וכדומה. ארעיות זו יוצרת קשיים ומונעת הגעת חברים חדשים שהיו בוודאי מגיעים לבית כנסת מיוחד זה.
לאור החשיבות הרבה שאני רואה בקיומה של קהילת 'שפיץ זמר הזית' באפרת אני פונה אליכם לתמוך ולתרום לבניית משכן קבע לבית הכנסת, אשר ישרת את הקהילה ואת כלל תושבי אפרת.
