Our Plans
Since its early days as a Friday-night-only minyan, Spitz Zemer HaZayit has steadily outgrown its physical space at each stage of its development.
In the early years, the congregation met in the hallway of a local elementary school, a "temporary" arrangement that lasted almost ten years.
The next move was to a dance studio of the community center. While this created more space for tefillah, there is still no room for children's activities, kiddushim and community celebrations.
The congregation only has access to the current premises for Shabbatot and holidays. This limitation makes it impossible for Spitz Zemer HaZayit to host events or family simchas during the week and does not support the congregation’s growing needs.
Today, Spitz Zemer HaZayit is ready for a permanent synagogue building that will meet its present needs and allow for future expansion.
Much thought and effort have been invested in architectural planning to construct a synagogue center that reflects our religious identity.

The synagogue will include:
-
A sanctuary divided equally between the men’s and women’s sections, with a movable mechitza partition down the middle
-
An aron kodesh with direct access from both the men's and women's sections

A bima at the center of the sanctuary, with direct access from both the men's and women's sections
-
Space for children’s activities during prayer services
-
A kitchen for use during kiddushim and social events
-
A central lobby for social and cultural activities
-
A social hall which can be rented by the community at large
All aspects of the structure will be wheelchair accessible.
התוכניות שלנו
מאז ראשית דרכו של המניין, תחילה כמניין ליל שבת בלבד, גדלה הקהילה בהתמדה ועם כל גידול במספר חברי הקהילה דאגנו להגדיל גם את המיקום הפיזי של התפילות.
בשנים הראשנות נפגשה הקהילה לתפילות במסדרון בית ספר יסודי מקומי, סידור "ארעי" שנמשך כעשר שנים.
השלב הבא היה מעבר לאולם מחול במתנ"ס המקומי. המעבר איפשר הגדלה של אזור התפילה, אבל עדיין אינו מאפשר אזור לפעילויות ילדים, קידושים ושמחות קהילתיות.
המקום הנוכחי מוקצה לקהילה רק לשבתות וימים טובים, מה שמונע את האפשרות לארגן שמחות ואירועים שונים במהלך השבוע ולכן אינו מאפשר תמיכה בגידול הקהילה והתפתחותה.
היום קהילת 'שפיץ זמר הזית' מוכנה לבניין קבע לבית הכנסת שיתמוך בצרכים הנוכחיים של הקהילה ויאפשר גידול עתידי.
חשיבה ומאמצים רבים הושקעו בתכנון המבנה החדש של בית הכנסת כדי שישקף את הזהות הדתית של הקהילה.
בית הכנסת החדש יכלול:
-היכל תפילה שיחולק שווה בין אזור הנשים לאזור הגברים באמצעות מחיצה ניידת
-ארון קודש שתהיה לו נגישות שווה מעזרת הגברים ומעזרת הנשים
-בימה במרכז ההיכל שתהיה נגישה משתי העזרות
-יוקצה איזור נפרד לטובת תפילת ילדים ופעילות ילדים
-מטבח לקידושים ואירועים חברתיים
-לובי מרכזי למפגשים ואירועים חברתיים
-אולם אירועים שישרת את הקהילה ויושכר לתושבי האזור
כל המבנה יהיה מונגש לבעלי מוגבלויות
