The Spitz Zemer HaZayit Congregation

In 2005, a group of families in the Zayit neighborhood of Efrat, Israel, came together to create a new synagogue that has transformed the face of religious life in the community.

​

Spitz Zemer HaZayit was established with the support and encouragement of the Chief Rabbi of Efrat, Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, and continues to be guided by his halachic rulings.

​

Echoing the diversity of Israeli society and of Efrat in particular, the congregation is a blend of native-born Israelis and immigrants from North America and Europe, Ashkenazim and Sephardim, newly married couples together with younger and older families, including grandparents.

​

Spitz Zemer HaZayit is open to any and all who seek to infuse their commitment to halachic observance with a modern and revitalizing spirit.

קהילת 'שפיץ זמר הזית' הוקמה בשנת 2005 על ידי קבוצה של משפחות משכונת הזית באפרת שהתאגדו יחד, ועם השנים השפיעה עמוקות על חיי הדת באפרת.

​

'שפיץ זמר הזית' הוקמה בעידודו ובתמיכתו של המרא דאתרא של אפרת, הרב שלמה ריסקין, וממשיכה לקבל מהרב הדרכה הלכתית.

​

הקהילה משקפת את השונות של החברה הישראלית ושל אפרת ומאגדת בתוכה ילידי הארץ ועולים חדשים מצפון אמריקה ואירופה, אשכנזים ובני עדות המזרח, זוגות צעירים ומשפחות בוגרות – כולל סבים וסבתות.

בית הכנסת פתוח לכל מי שמעוניין להיות שותף בחיי קהילה פעילים הכוללים מחויבות הלכתית עם רוח מודרנית ומחיה.
